Living Room Jazz was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 2017. Now based in Montreal, the group delivers jazz and Brazilian bossa nova with a modern and elegant touch while still retaining a comforting and homey feeling fitting of the Living Room name. From restaurants to weddings to private and corporate events, Living Rooms main goal is to provide the best entertainment possible as well as a good dose of Brazilian culture to all audiences.

Schumann: “Year of Songs: Dichterliebe and Frauenliebe und Leben”

In the year 1840, a momentous chapter unfolded in the life of Robert Schumann. It was a year of love and artistic brilliance, as he not only joined his life with Clara through marriage but also composed a staggering number of 138 lieders.

Now, in a delightful celebration of Schumann’s Year of Songs, the Valois Concert Series proudly presents a captivating performance by the talented soprano Ella Wilhelm. Collaborated by co-artistic director of the Valois Concert Series, Judy Hung, this enchanting duo will breathe life into two of Schumann’s most prominent lieders from this iconic year: “Dichterliebe”(Poet’s Love) and “Frauenliebe und Leben” (Women’s Love and Life).
